Long Description:
Worldbuilding is one of the great privileges of storytelling - and also one of its greatest challenges. But what if we reimagined our approach to this crucial task? What if we explicitly considered theme before plot? Too often, apparent needs of the storyline can become a creative straightjacket on what we consider when creating and playing within our settings. In this session, we’ll explore what theme-based worldbuiling can look like, and some practical ways to allow it to inform your storytelling. We’ll also examine ways to identify what themes are already in motion in an existing campaign and even individual characters, and how to enhance or expand upon them as desired.
