Game ID:
TRD26ND302662
Short Description:
Basic logical processes, and higher level reasoning, are integral to board games. Come play Shipwreck Arcana and discuss how it and other games could be used in the classroom.
Long Description:
Educator & Librarian Track: Participants will engage in hands-on gameplay to experience how players must synthesize hidden information, evaluate mathematical probabilities, and use higher-level reasoning to solve complex puzzles. The session will include a collaborative discussion on how to effectively integrate these mechanics into an educational setting. We will examine how the game’s deductive loops map to educational standards, foster peer-to-peer communication, and build critical thinking resilience. Participants will leave with practical strategies for using analog games in teaching students.
