From Living Room to Live Stream - Part 1: Translating a Game Without Losing Your Sanity
Short Description:
“The Internet is dark, and full of terrors .Are you contemplating taking YOUR home game and streaming it? Do you dream of internet fame, fortune, and glory? If so, learn from our mistakes!
Long Description:
Are you contemplating taking YOUR home game and streaming it? Do you dream of internet fame, fortune, and glory? If so, learn from our mistakes! Here is a guide to making the transition from home-play to broadcast from a Luddite GM with four decades of experience (and boy, was it painful…). Learn what pitfalls to avoid, what types of plotlines do and don’t work on-screen, how your storytelling style will likely need to modify at least somewhat, and even how dialog can and probably must be radically different in a home-to-studio situation. We’ll also be looking at designing a game from the ground up with the intent of streaming it versus adapting one already in progress. Come with an open mind, a curious heart, and your best questions!
