Short Description:
Learn how to paint all sorts of lighting effects for your miniatures. In particular, we will talk about the importance of ambient lighting and how it affects painting glowing objects (OSL).
Long Description:
Have you experimented with object-source lighting (OSL) and struggled? Do you want to try it but find it intimidating? The addition of lighting is one of the most dramatic ways to elevate a painted miniature but it is a complex and often unintuitive subject. However, the rules for it are quite simple once you know them! Ben Carver from Primal Poodle Painting has 20 years of experience painting miniature figures, and is here to make your painting journey smoother and easier. We will cover not just how to make your OSL more convincing, but also how to use ambient lighting to place your miniature within an environment. Each student will be given a model on which to sketch two (or more!) light sources to practice these concepts. Paints will also be provided, but please bring your own brushes.
