for the love of "the gods" please improve the official Gen Con App!
Posted by hahnarama

Its that time of of year again where I COMPLAIN aka BEG the powers that be to update/improve the 3rd World* App that passes for something official.

Gen Con claims to be the best event in the World, or maybe the best 4 days in gaming, but their European Cousins are kicking their ass on the App front. THEY ARE WINNING THE APP WARS! (Was it over when the German's bombed Pearl Harbor?)

Go to iTunes or Google Play and download the Spiel Essen app. They might use AI to generate 6 fingered freaks for the show art but the App KICKS ASS! When you look at the Hall maps it kindly asks you to rotate your phone to portrait mode for best viewing. You can plot out out your day and the map will guide you.. It lists ALL new game releases debuting at the show, and if you allow it it will access your GPS and guide you to the booth you are looking for.

IMO there is no excuse for the dismal app that we get for the $140 badge fee.

It's too late for this year but I challenge the Gen Con staff to win the Great App War of 2025.

USA! USA! USA!!!

GAME ON!

* I sincerely apologize to the developing Nations of the World, no offense was meant.
