Double Events at the same time

How many others had 2 overlapping events approved for purchase? It happened to me twice today.

None outside of tournaments.

I found out that most (all?) magic the gathering events are listed as tournaments, and as such they don't block out schedules.

I think if you signed up for an identical event, the system allowed you to double  book. I think this allows you to pick what time slot you want to do the event.

There are definitely some overlapping events (Tournaments being one) that allow you to overlap and double book.
The system does not stop you from booking these.
