I've never gotten email confirmations, I've always had to call and confirm. I'm staying at the Hyatt also.
@britbrit, Ok, so the Hyatt may not send them out, but the Westin did when I stayed there. This year I'm at the Embassy Suites. It would be nice for them to send the email, because otherwise you don't have the hotel confirmation number, you only have the Gen Con block reservation number and the hotel will have no idea what that number is. If I don't get an email by tomorrow morning, I'll call Embassy Suites again, because they had no idea who I was about 2 weeks ago. That's when I realized they must not have been transferred yet.
They were just transferred to the Omni. But I don't think they send confirmation emails. I called them.
Embassy sent mine today but we are arriving early, on Sunday. We're also out of block but I'm guessing they send everyone's a week out?
Yes, I called on the way home yesterday and the Embassy Suites had my reservation. Incidentally, 20 minutes later I got the email confirmation and the reservation appeared on my account. I would assume if you don't have information now that the Housing Block is closed, you should get on the phone and check with Q-Rooms to see what happened. Check with your hotel first though.
Called the Marriott directly, got my confirmation info from them. Everything is good to go!
I called the JW today and they said that Qrooms hadn't transferred things over to them. Is that true? The woman I spoke to was not helpful.
I called the JW today and they were able to confirm my room. You should definitely call again.
I called back. I am impatient. This time they confirmed it and sent me an e-mail. I feel better.
We got an email a week ago saying that we had a reservation at Le Meridien and that one night deposit would be charged today, 7/26. Didn't hear anything yet today and didn't get a charge, so I called. They gave me a verbal confirmation number via phone and sent a confirmation email. They clarified that nothing would be charged until our check-in date. Whew!
Now the next question........has anyone been charged for their first night deposit yet? I haven't.
I broke down and called the JW to check on reservation. They did have it and were at least taking requests for extras (roll away bed for my group). I stayed there last year and no money moved from my bank account until we checked in.
I just checked my credit card statement from last year. Looks like the one night deposit went through the day I checked in and the rest posted the day I checked out. I guess that answers that question.
I have not been charged yet.
I don't expect to be charged for the first night until I check-in (or don't check-in). I expect to be charged for the remainder of my stay when I checkout.
Staying at the Hilton and that is how they usually will handle this.
I maybe surprised. I will see.
At the Sheraton this year and they charged for the first night today.
We are at the Sheraton and have a confirmation e-mail but no charge yet. Might call them because I am paranoid haha.
Huh! I just got notice that my card was charged for the complete stay's worth, not just the one night's deposit. I didn't see that coming.
That's no big deal to me; I was going to get charged no matter what. I'm just surprised the Westin went ahead and charged the entire amount ahead of my stay. Weird.
