I don't understand people wanting a room downtown due to medical complications. You know you have to walk and stand all through GenCon and can't even go into the Exhibit Hall if you are unable to walk, right? The people trying to use medical reasons as an excuse for needing downtown seem to be taking advantage of the concept of being disabled.

An example: my brother has a serious case of Crohn's disease. He can walk around for a few hours, but will eventually need to go lie down due to the arthritis. Then, if that doesn't become a problem, he may have a flare up. Two years ago he had a bad one and spent much of GenCon in bed. But, if we didn't have a connected hotel, he wouldn't have been able to go in at all; he would have spent all four days in bed at the hotel.

Getting a connected room is mandatory for us. And there are plenty with conditions worse than him. But that doesn't mean they shouldn't be able to enjoy a vacation.
