Hyatt Place

Hyatt Place only took 1/2 of a night stay for a deposit. Is that normal?

It’s not uncommon for hotels to stray from Gen Con’s official policy.

People have reported that sometimes they weren’t billed the deposit at all, and were just billed for the full stay after the Con.  The contract with Gen Con probably says they can bill at most one night as a deposit; nothing probably stops them from billing less.

Thanks! Having a goofy amount deducted made me think something was wrong.

We got charged a little more than one night+tax for our Gen Con stay at Hyatt Place. Charge came through yesterday (Friday).

Okay, about the same. Slightly higher than 1/2.makes me feel better that someone else got charged similarly.

Just to be clear, we were charged slightly higher than ONE NIGHT. So something like $298.

I got charged 298 as well. We are at the Hyatt House though.

Weird. I was expecting 256 to be withdrawn . They would be 1 night with taxes and fees. Instead they only took 138. They better not give me a closet.

I'm hoping the 298 doesn't represent the room and an extra chair. Weird hotel math is weird.

This morning Hyatt Place deducted the difference so the total is one night plus a little bit. I'm no longer relegated to a closet.
