How to change event tickets?

I have purchased a ticket (to be picked up at will call) for a seminar.  There is a different event I would rather go to, but I can't find a way to cancel my seminar ticket so that I can buy a ticket for the event.  (I'm not able to buy a ticket for the event I want, because I have the seminar in the time slot).  Is it too late to change tickets?  Was there a cut off date?

Once pre registration ended on June 19th, and tickets were printed and sorted/mailed, it was no longer possible to return tickets online; you'll have to wait until you get on site to change those tickets out.

Is this something I am able to do Wednesday afternoon?  From what I recall from the last GenCon I attended, the will call tickets are available on Wednesday but I don't know if event tickets were being sold on Wednesday.
