I only traveled with the digital version. No problems.

I wrote to Gen Con customer service re: the EU Digital COVID Vaccination Pass and I got the following reply, which I hope is helpful:
I would recommend bringing the paper version just in case technology doesn't want to cooperate once you arrive.

As long as we can see your pertinent information on your device and it does not need to be scanned or interacted in any way by us it is fine.
