What happens with event registration if I buy a friends badge?

If I buy a badge for a friend account, can that friend still register for and manage his own events?

Yes, he can. He can buy event tickets for himself, or you can.

My wife bought my ticket and my brother in laws at one time. I don't have a badge on my account and cannot look at the housing portal, it keeps telling me to buy a badge. My concern is this will happen with event tickets as well and we will lose out on events we would like to enjoy.

You have a badge on this account. Please look under your "My Packets" page. You can see it there.
You do not have access to the housing portal. Only the person who bought your badge has that access.
