The time has come and you didn't get anything you wanted... tell us about it, this is a safe space!
I am currently inline with a number in the low 3ks.... I am not going to get most of what I signed up for, tell me about your woes as I drink so we can all be miserable....
TOGETHER!
Yeah I clicked on it immediately as it went up and I was 4100 and change in line. Absolutely wild, doubt I'm getting anything
How the hell did a Vaesen adventure with eight slots sell out in an instant? Not right at the submission time, but it said 8 tickets left one minute, then when I refreshed it was sold out.
Interestingly, my husband and I were sitting next to each other, and our clocks were off. I was able to submit for processing 30 seconds or so before him, and I wonder why. I was about 2000 ahead of him, and I'm still waiting, but it is curious and I wonder if anyone else saw something similar.
All the Wanderhome games are already gone. ugh. There's no winning at large events like this unless you're botting
I do have an grand idea for next year! Maybe gencon could add a real time grey out of our wish lists as we wait in the que... it would be like a slow morose decent into madness as our lists slowly become sold out.
@marimaccadmin this could be a kaizen idea!
Ponyhammer :( Number one event. Good low number. Sold out.
Remember that some people always get accidental duplicates as they and their friends are trying to get the same events together; please pay for the events in your cart and then feel free to resubmit that wishlist! Tickets will be returned for almost every event!
And don't forget to check the site periodically for new events.
And always always show up onsite with generics if you really want to play; often there's a no show and they can accomodate you.
Marian
I'm still waiting, but it looks like we'll get most of what we want. I was like 2600ish or something around there, so it wasn't perfect, but hopefully it'll work out for us. Does make me curious to see the data on gencon's end, what time on THEIR clock everyone clicked, and how the clocks are synchronized
Lost track of time, logged in to click submit wishlist at 12:10...slowly watching the numbers drop from 6548 to 5175 as of 12:27 Eastern standard time. I discovered I can't add anything to my cart while my wish list is processing. Had I known that, I would have added some of the more popular things that are priority to my cart, purchased, then removed them from my wishlist and submitted it then. Sigh. This is a new feature and I do love the plan ahead aspect of it. I wonder how many years it will take before it becomes a lottery system like housing where we get a time to submit and process. 4926 as of 12:30
I'm not going to complain -- I have done this dance too many times and now I just smile and shake my head when my initial place in line pops up with 5634.
And Marimacc has the best idea...resubmit again after the first try as tickets fly back and forth and also check in later. You never know what might pop back up.
Best of luck to all!
Given the amount of people this system is not fair for anyone which is perfect.. lol.
Well, it's official: I didn't get anything I wanted (except probably Battletech Grinder, but that's not a huge accomplishment). Vaesen, Unknown Armies, Deadlands - all sold out before I crossed the 3000th in line mark.
Well, I tried to process my cart because I got to top of the line, and now I'm back in the queue at number 5500 something, so uh...guess I'm not getting those events after all. No idea what happened, but definitely not happy about it, wonder what would cause that
I agree with how VIGs might feel like they're paying all this extra $$ so they should get priority registration, which would f with things for everyone else... while I gesture futilely at the prospect of getting a 2 queen room at the downtown embassy in block after VIG registration is done. I rather like the derby system myself. At least I can yell at myself mildly for being late this morning as though that would make much a of a difference. I'm thinking in terms of computing and process to manage all of the incoming requests for event purchases. They don't want to take down the system in a GenCon Hug of Death as we all try to register at once.
The exact same thing happened to me. I was int he 1700s, waited patiently until i was in the 100s, then 50, then 20s, then it said i could move to paying for the tickets. Boom, casually slid to mid 5k to just wither on the vine.
