Is there a link or a contact if I want to cancel attendance for reasons tied to the epidemic?

Your question kind of does not make sense. You don’t need a reason to cancel attendance. Just get a refund now.

If you are trying to get your $10 back as well from the cancellation fee, I don’t think it will happen yet, as they are not planning on canceling right now. In fact, right as of this second, Mike has already stated that they are moving forward and planning the details. No other update right now.

by late July with all of us wearing masks and having hand sanitizer we should be mitigating the risk as much as possible. In addition if there is screening at the entrance to the convention center to not admit any one showing any of the symptoms  then there is not much else can be done.  also having one way
aisles will help also.  if everyone is wearing masks then the chance of spreading covid is reduced greatly according to the CDC.  I think we will all be
wearing masks in public for several months or until a vaccine is done. Just quit touching your face, which is a hard habit to overcome.
I want to see Gencon happening , but safely. I think it can be done.
Also in Jacksonville, Fl , Target, Home Depot , Lowe's and grocery store parking lots are full most anytime I drive by them. And I-95 has as much traffic
when everything is opened. I am wordering where are all these people going?

I just don't trust that interested parties in Indiana, Indianapolis, or GenCon will act disinterestedly when it comes to money.  Given the potential for long-term pulmonary and neurological issues, plus blood-clotting in otherwise asymptomatic patients, it makes no sense to put myself in a downtown viral stew with 65,000 randos.  Con crud is bad enough without COVID-19.

The good news is that I found the refund info.

I agree with you on this.
And now they are releasing new reports from Cali, indicating that a LOT more people had this virus than we expected; in fact tons more. That goes a great distance to reassuring me of our near future.
I still think Gen Con is likely to be cancelled, but I certainly hope not. It would be nice if those who want to go, can, and those who dont, dont.

Honestly, this thread should be locked at this point. It has become non-stop posts demanding gencon be cancelled. The staff will have an announcement sooner than later. Until then, some of you need to find something relaxing, like yoga.
I think all we're asking for is an announcement about when the major announcement would be.For example, Origins announced in mid March that they're making a go/no-go decision by May 1st - which made everyone calm down a bit - and then ended up announcing the October postponement in early April anyway.  (So much for that "force majeure" clause that everyone assumes is waiting to torpedo any Con that makes the call on their own - do you really think the GCCC is going to soak them for the cancellation and then make them pay again to use the facilities in October?  Surely they worked out an agreeable accommodation.)
Simply saying "we're waiting to see what the state says"... well, the state might be on a completely different timetable than the kind of lead time a con needs.  They might announce on July 15th that all major events can resume by July 30th.  That's not very helpful to us, the Con, or the local businesses, is it?
That's all I've been saying, at least.

They HAVE made an announcement, the Con is going on AS scheduled right now.
I keep seeing this over and over "Gen Con needs to make an announcement" THEY HAVE! There are, as of right now, no changes. If something changes they will say it then.
Until then if you mean "I want Gen Con to cancel" simply cancel your hotel(with a fee)/refund your badge, ete. You don't need to wait.

My own two coppers is that it is all speculation at this point, either Gen Con will happen or it will not.

If it happens, then you have a choice to attend or not. If you think it is irresponsible/stupid/negligent/lethal or whatever to attend, then don't attend and let those that want to attend it, attend it. The chances of them bringing anything back to you are low unless they live in your house or you work closely with them.

If it does not happen, then no need to worry about it. I guess you could be concerned about your refund, but I have faith that Gen Con will do what is right by every badge holder and hotel reservations.

Either way, it is a sit and wait proposition and Gen Con will tell us what happens next. I think we have events posting in a week or so and that should either calm people or inflame people.

I hope that Gen Con goes on as planned and I will be there. If it doesn't, they can keep my money until the following year if it helps keep them solvent. What I don't want to lose is my hotel reservation or at least the connected hotel I got this year. If we roll over to next year, I say everything rolls over and those that did well on the hotel lottery this year keep their option for next year...

I agree with you 100%. Especially about the adjoining hotel. I too won the lottery this year and am not giving it up easy or early as some “I am not going” people would like us to do just so they can jump in and take it.

No my friend, we are sticking with this - hard to believe I can win the lottery again by being literally one of the first people allowed to book.

Agreed on all counts.

That's a shame. I am unhappy about this, as I look forward to playing NASCRAG every year, but I respect his right to make this decision. No one should feel forced to do something with which they are uncomfortable, especially if that something is supposed to be fun.
Sorry to hear about this as well. I have played NASCRAG before and while I love Pathfinder, it was not 100% my cup of tea, but it was fun. It is sad to see any large gaming group officially pull out of the convention.

If Gen Con does happen, I just hope Paizo does not pull out as I don't think the convention could handle a blow of that size. Like I said above, the only thing we know is that we don't know anything...

Be safe! Be good to each other! I hope to see all of you in July!

Crap, I didn't think of that. Hope they don't do that - that would remove one of the big reasons for me to go (Pathfinder and Starfinder Society organized play).

I can't speak for anyone else but my group, The Guild of San Marcos, will not be attending this year. (So if you're a big 7th Sea 1st Ed. fan, I have some bad news for you...)

All posts that had posts that included deleted posts were deleted. Yes, I think that makes sense.

That's starting to sound Monty Python-esque, Mike.
